I will disagree with everyone else on the planet on this one and I do like Roy Orbison.
As good as the band was there should have been more sparks in this DVD rather than almost none. The sparks that were there seemed to me almost scripted.
I got the distinct impression that the set was completely re-recorded. If that was the case all blemishes can be removed. Now, of course, with that line up one would hardly think that there would be a mistake. So we might not know what happened during the filming, afterwards or, in this case, how much happened afterwards.
Yes, the sound was great but all films go in for a mix and one would hope that the director and music producer would take the time needed to make this one sound good.
So yes it was/is a historic film but it does, at least for me, raise a few questions.

It wasn’t clear about which DVD to order and I made the mistake of ordering the HD and I can’t play it on my machine. Watch the one you order.

Couldn’t watch it because it is high def and my player is analogue. When I began reading about the technology, I realized Amazon was probably dumping this product because Blu Ray is supplanting high def. I’ll keep it as a remainder to be certain what I’m buying in future and beware.

Roy Orbison – Black & White Night (DVD & DVD Audio)
I WAS MOST DISAPPOINTED AS THE DVD WAS BLANK, I FELT SO FOOLISH AS THIS WAS A GIFT. I GOT IN TOUCH WITH AMAZON AND I WAS SENT ANOTHER ONE FOR WHICH I HAD TO PAY FOR ITS DELIVERY [ NOT IMPRESSED ABOUT THAT ] WHEN IT ARRIVED THAT ONE WAS ALSO BLANK. I THEN GAVE UP AS I CANNOT AFFORD TO KEEP PAYING FOR MORE POSTAGE. I WILL BE INTERESTED TO HEAR FROM YOU AS TO WHAT I CAN DO NEXT WITH OUT IT COSTING ME YET MORE MONEY. I ONLY GET A STATE PENSION TO LIVE ON.
YOURS SINCERELY
GWEN HALE.
